I love riding our Harley!

I am always looking for even the smallest reason to go for a ride on our Harley when the weather is nice. My wife and I enjoy riding to the coast or even to a local casino or wherever as long as the weather cooperates. No we do not like riding in the rain we are most definitely fair weather riders. This is our 06 Harley Electra Glide Classic with just over 2,500 miles on it. This is a sweet riding machine, eventually I would really like to test it out on an extended ride to Arizona and back but I will have to wait till I get back to work before that happens. We have made some good runs like the Oyster Run to Anacortes, Wa or the Sun and Surf Run to Ocean Shores, Wa however, I would like a longer challenge. Below are a few bikes I took pictures of while at the Oyster Run. I have never seen as many bikes in one place and on one single day as I saw at the Oyster run. If you like bikes the Oyster run in Anacortes is the place to be to see them, there are thousands of bikes.

Our 2006 Electra Glide Classic is a beautiful bike!

The Fishing is Great but the Catching Well...
I truly enjoy fishing with my son. Lately we have been doing more salmon fishing than any other type of fishing. I take pleasure in all types of fishing not simply salmon but trout, pike, and bass as well. When my granddaughters were younger I would take them fishing with me but lately the fishing as far as they are concerned has been replaced with boys. Right now is the end of January and the steelhead are starting to show in the local rivers. My son and

I will soon be back putting on the chest waders and fishing the rivers for steelhead.
Raising Koi
My wife and I get pleasure from the Koi we raise in the pond we created in our back yard. Setting on our deck that wraps around the pond allows us to watch the koi and is actually very relaxing. We have had our problems with predators such as blue herons, raccoons, and cats. We placed netting over the pond and have had very little problems with losing fish ever since. The picture on the right is our deck after a light snowfall. The middle portion of this picture is where the deck wraps around the pond. The bottom picture are the two small falls and part of the stream that end up cascading into the koi pond. This water feature was a family project and took us about a month to complete. The lower part of the deck was added after the pond was completed. Since its completion we have enjoyed hours of relaxation in our back yard.
Photography
I like to take pictures of almost everything but I think my favorite subject matter is landscapes. I am by no means any more than an amateur photographer but it is something that gives me pleasure. This hobby also affords my wife and I a way to get out of the house and into the countryside. This also gives me something to do if I am having a slow day fishing the a river that has some appealing beauty. My wife and I are planning a way to incorporate two of my favorite hobbies by combining a motorcycle ride with photographing the scenery of the Cascade Loop sometime this summer (2010). One thing about a motorcycle it is sometimes easier to pull off the road than a car when you see an opportunity to get a picture you feel is worthwhile. If I get some good pictures I will add them to the four pictures I have placed to the right on this page.
